In January 1915, within three days of enlisting, Nurse Greig was nursing in France - in time for the Battle of the Somme.\nWhiole in England, and still during the war, she married Lieut. Stanley Austin Carr, Auckland Mounted Rifles, whom she had known before the war.\n\nBarbara's sister Elsie Greig also nursed during WW1, serving with the Australian Army Nursing Service."
