He served on Gallipoli and was wounded on 6th May 1915 at the Daisy Patch, Cape Hellas, receiving a serious gunshot wound to his head and face. He left for New Zealand on the SS Willochra three days later as a convalescent and was discharged on 9th June 1916. |
