Vincent William Melhuish was born in 1909, in Wellington. He enlisted in 1939 and served with 5th Field Regiment. His occupation prior to enlistment was Radio Technician. He served overseas in Africa before being discharged as medically unfit with asthma in June 1943. He died in 1984. 5 Piastres Egyptian Government Currency Note Collected by Sgt William Vincent Melhuish, 5th Field Regiment, 2NZEF, WW2. Made from paper in a rectangle shape.. The note is issued under Law No 50, 1940. Green ink text reads: EGYPTIAN GOVERNMENT CURRENCY NOTE. The reverse of the note is printed in brown ink and depicts adamn and palm leaves banknote
