Sleeping mat for an infant. This wewene is woven in single check from processed strips of baan ni kaina into a wide rectangular shape. The strips of baan ni kaina are golden yellow and overlaid with baan te kaina dyed black but since faded in colour. These dyed wefts are overlaid in five horizontal bars across one side of the wewene surface. On the underside of the wewene, dark overlaind strips of baan ni kaina are arranged in a series of small squares and a central horizontal band of triangular shapes across the wewene. In the initial preparation of the baan ni kaina, when the leaves are harvested as young green leaves, they produce the golden yellow colour. The two long edges of this wewene have been woven in a serrated pattern called wii n bakoa, named for shark teeth. Te wewene
