Ornaments of conus shell. This is an ornament that features two circular discs ground from te nikabono that have been ground from te nouo (cone shell; conus). Both has been attached to a neck band of te kora (cordage of coconut sennit fibre). Te nikabono pendants feature a carved convex surface. Fine ridges that circle towards the centre are indicative of the spires lines of growth. The reverse of the pendant concaves through a series of circular furrows that define the spires interior. One pendant is larger than the other. Small circular perforations have been drilled near the edge where a band of te kora has been threaded with smaller circular discs of te nana (coconut shell) and te nouo. The discs alternate creating a pattern. These are doubled in some segments otherwise even throughout. Te nikabono
