After WW1 HMS New Zealand was one of the ships listed for disposal under the Washington Treaty and was sold for scrap in December 1922, and dismantled at the Rosyth Shipbuilding Yards, Scotland Auckland Star, 9th May 1913: "It may be interesting to note that tonight the New Zealand searchlight will play from 6.30 till 7 p.m., and from 7 p.m. till 7.30 p.m. The battleship will weigh anchor at 9 a.m. tomorrow, and will continue her cruise round New Zealand before returning to Auckland."
