Geo Hulme after the Battle of the Somme, September 1916 Sergeant 5/285 George Frederick Hulme, Auckland Infantry Battalion, WW1 George Frederick Hulme embarked with the 4th Reinforcements, Army Service Corps, which left New Zealand on 17th April 1915 and arrived in Suez on 25 May 1915. Following his time in Egypt, Hulme went on to serve at Gallipoli and in Western Europe. He was serving with the Auckland Infantry Battalion at the time of his death, killed in action. in France on 22 June 1917 aged 23 years. Messines Ridge NZ Memorial, Belgium
