Specific history not known. The Webley Mk VI, introduced in 1915, became the standard issue revolver of the British Army. Although officially replaced in 1932 it remained in use during WW2. This example of the Mk VU Webley has a Star patent ejector, a manually operated star wheel ejector which was designed to clear spent casings from all chambers, at once.
