Sydney Webb enlisted as a Sapper with the NZ Field Engineers aged 23 years, and went on to serve in Egypt, Gallipoli and Western Europe. Little is known about him – he enlisted from Invercargill, was a watchmaker by trade and served for 4 years, 175 days. His best known contribution is perhaps the photographs he took on Gallipoli probably using a Vest Pocket Kodak. In a small album Webb documents the landscape and life of Gallipoli.
