Gunner Norreys Boylan embarked for Suez, Egypt, with the 6th Reinforcements on 14 August 1915. He served throughout the war in the Egyptian Campaign (1915-1916) and on the Western Front (1916-1918) and was honourably discharged on 23 April 1919.
