http://collections.aucklandmuseum.com/ontology/core/researcherComments description: “Footed.”
http://collections.aucklandmuseum.com/ontology/core/researcherComments makers comment: “If the hallmarks are correctly identified, the maker is Joseph Morgan (PS6542/OP3289).”
http://collections.aucklandmuseum.com/ontology/core/researcherComments other comments: “Hallmarks of these shapes are characteristic of Birmingham. The hallmarks of Yates, Birch and Spooner (PS75/OP5349, 1829-39), for example, are very similar in outline. These hallmarks do seem closest to Joseph Morgan's, but if so, that is a little surprising because the W IV implies this was probably made between 1830 and 1837 and we didn't think Joseph Morgan had started his Birmingham business as early as that. (He had another business making candles in Manchester.)”
