Neck ornament of coconnut shell discs. This was made for a child. It is made from te kora (coconut sennit fibre cordage) and te nana (coconut shell discs). The kora is a mid brown in colour and has been used to thread a series of small circular discs of te nana. The discs of te nana vary in circumference, are dark brown in colour and matte in surface texture. A small circular perforation has been drilled into the centre of the discs where the kora has been threaded through. There are two strands of threaded te nana, both have been fastened together at one end. Four left over strands of kora have been threaded with a series of te nana and then knotted off. The short and loose fibrous ends of the kora can be seen at the knotted ends. Te mwae te nana
