http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/description Two bokai. Two wooden pegs or bolts. These two bokai are potentially made from itai wood. They are dart-shaped and the base of each is rounded and features a drilled hole through which a te nimwaerere cord (rolled two-ply cord of human hair and sennit fibre) is strung. The two strands of te nimwaerere are strung through the two holes and knotted securing the pegs in place. The te nimwaerere strands are connected to two te kora (sennit-fibre cord) strands by means of knotting and these te kora strands themselves are knotted together at the other end of the cord. The wood is dark brown in colour and smooth-surfaced. The te nimwaerere strands show wear, with sections of te ira n atu (human hair) missing.
