http://erlangen-crm.org/current/P3_has_note John Bonfield O'Mealy was born in Ireland circa 1806-10. He married Elizabeth and they arrived in Wellington on 08/12/1841 on the Antilla. By 1842 he was resident at Official Bay in Auckland and lived in Auckland until about 1849. During the mid to late 1840s they resided at Acacia Cottage (the same as at Cornwall Park?). Three children were born during their time here, two boys and a girl. Probably as a result of the Californian gold rush they moved there to mine and were living in Trinity, California in 1850. At some stage they moved to Victoria, Australia, where he committed suicide on 5 July 1876.
