Cheeseman, dated 3rd and 5th November 1900 respectively; (b) "Notes on the occurrence of certain minerals and ores on the Gt. Barrier Island", by Charles P. Winkelmann; (c) "Notes on the Kingfisher (Halcyon sanctus)", by T.W. Hall; (d) "Notes on The Birds of the Little Barrier Island", by Robert H. Shakespear, 25 February 1904; (e) "Memorandum re Ferrets & c", by W.D. Campbell, AKC, FGS; (f) handwritten agreement concerning a deposit by John Logan Campbell to Auckland Museum entitled "Specimen of Heart of Kauri Timber after Fifty Years & Four Month's exposure to the weather", dated 24 October 1891, Auckland, and acknowledged and countersigned by Thomas F. Cheeseman, Curator; (g) notes by Thomas F. Cheeseman concerning items, notably Maori mats but also weapons, presented by C.O. Davis [Charles Oliver Bond Davis] shortly before his death in June 1887. It appears the remainder of Davis' Maori collection was bequeathed to Auckland Museum following his death.
