http://erlangen-crm.org/current/P3_has_note Printed on verso "THE LAST OF NEW ZEALAND'S TATTOOED MAORI PEOPLE. A series of six conte portraits by B.W. Chantler (BRENARD). MOKO, the ancient Maori Art of Tattooing was discontinued about 1900; however, a few old ladies who were in their teens at that time are still living in remote country areas of New Zealand. These portraits are an accurate pictorial record of the last survivors. They enable us, in 1967, to witness the closing of a page of history. Cellulose-plastic finish - clean with dampened cloth. Supplied by Brenard - Kaeo, Northland, New Zealand."
