Predicate Object Locally common, on the open ground and climbing up young kanuka up to 2m on upper margin of SE-facing escarpment, of open regenerating native bush. Below the young kanuka was: mahoe, Lophomyrtus obcordata, Pseudopanax ferox, Streblus heterophyllus (a few) (kowhai, kohekohe & puriri present to W).
